This standard identifies cryptographic algorithms approved by the Cybersecurity Services to be used across Government of Alberta (GoA) IT systems.

Cryptographic algorithms acceptable for use in the GoA are based on the algorithms identified by the Communications Security Establishment Canada (CSEC) for use in protecting Protected Information and Electronic Authentication and Authorization applications within the Government of Canada.

This Standard is applicable for all GoA data; however, Protected C data may require additional security controls and considerations that are not within the scope of this standard. This Standard supports Information Security Management Directive section 2.3.

This policy instrument is still currently under review. It has been updated to reflect the current organizational structure, correct broken links and other minor updates.
